New crowns with pin construction
Aesthetic and functional improvement through zirconia porcelain crowns for a patient who was struggling with ageing metal crowns.
How did our crowns generate a new smile?
Before treatment at MOND
Traditionally, metal-porcelain crowns were often used to repair chipped teeth. Although effective in function, these crowns had a significant aesthetic drawback. Over time, a grey discolouration often developed at the gumline, and the metal rim could become visible, detracting from the natural appearance of the teeth. After 20 years of service, it was time for an upgrade for this patient.
After MOND
The old metal-porcelain crowns were replaced with 3 new crowns made of zirconia and porcelain. Zirconia is an advanced dental material known for its durability and aesthetic benefits. It is biocompatible and does not exhibit grey discolouration like metals. This process required the teeth to undergo precise preparations and customisation to ensure that the new crowns fit perfectly with the natural teeth and gums. The result was not only a renewed look without visible metal edges, but also increased durability and oral health for the patient.
